ADHD -Right To Choose
We are receiving a lot of requests from parents asking for Autism or ADHD referrals through Right to Choose. We ask parents to think carefully before choosing this option.
Some schools suggest Right to Choose as a quicker way to get a diagnosis. However, this is not always the case. Assessments may be done online, may not involve a full specialist team, and some providers do not offer follow-up care or treatment.
A new Cheshire and Merseyside Neurodevelopment Pathway was launched in June 2025 and is now being rolled out across Cheshire and Merseyside.
This new pathway aims to support children earlier. Schools or key professionals will help families access support using the ‘This Is Me’ tool. This tool helps everyone understand the child’s strengths and needs.
Our practice position is that parents ask their child’s school or educational setting to complete the ‘This Is Me’ tool and the if criteria are met, refer for diagnostic neurodevelopmental assessment
